Do you use pesticides on your oats?
The great thing about growing oats is that they are pretty resilient compared to other crops - they don’t need a whole lot of help to grow other than good old rainwater and sunshine. But like all crops, oats sometimes rely on pesticides to control weeds + grubby pests. The good news is that we strongly say no to glyphosates and chlormequat. Our oat growers also work with agronomists and they will only use registered chemicals if required. Any chemical used must comply with the regulations and Maximum Residue Limits (MRLs) set by the Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA), an arm of Health Canada.
