Are your facilities inspected regularly to ensure food safety?
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency typically inspect our facilities annually. Given what happened with Silk, CFIA is currently undertaking a targeted review of manufactured food establishments across Canada with a focus on the risks related to listeriosis and implementation of preventive controls required by the Safe Food for Canadians Regulations. We are part of this review and had our inspection in December 2024.
In addition to CFIA’s inspections, we also have a SQF certification, which is an independent, third-party validation that our product, process, or service complies with the standards outlined in the SQF code. To renew our certification, SQF Food Safety Auditors inspect our facilities annually.
